The Best Picture Dilemma- Who will fill in the final 5 places?

The Producers Guild nominations were announced this week, and a real curve ball was thrown, with American Sniper and Nightcrawler getting in with Selma and Unbroken dropping out. So, who is getting nominated, but will it matter? Will there only be 9 nominees? If there is 10, this is how I see it going:

Dead Certs: Boyhood, Birdman, Selma.

It’s 90% there: The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything.

Still strong, but don’t bet your house on it: The Grand Budapest Hotel, Gone Girl, Whiplash.

So, who will be the final 2? I’m happy for now to say that Foxcatcher will be in there as a 9th pick, due to the Golden Globe and Producers Guild picture nomination. I don’t think there will be a 10th, but I still want to pick a film to take the 10th place. Should that happen, it’s between Unbroken, American Sniper and Nightcrawler. If Gyllenhaal gets nominated for Best Actor, it will be more likely to get a nod and if Jolie gets nominated for Best Director, Unbroken is more likely to get the nod. However, American Sniper, I feel, could still get a nod without any major nominations, so that gets my vote for now, but as I said, it probably won’t get a nod.
