Ridiculously Early Oscar Predictions 2016

With the 2015 awards season behind us, it’s time to say ‘Bring it On!’ to 2016’s season. There are some big films from big directors with massive stars that have been announced so far, so let’s have one massive stab in the dark at who will be getting a nod come next year.

Best Picture (assuming there is 10): Beasts of No Nation, Black Mass, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Carol, The Danish Girl, The Hateful Eight, Joy, The Revenant, Sea of Trees.

Best Director: Tom Hooper (The Danish Girl), Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (The Revenant), Steven Spielberg (Bridge of Spies), Quentin Tarantino (The Hateful Eight), Gus Van Sant (Sea of Trees).

Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), Jake Gyllenhaal (Demolition), Ethan Hawke (Born to be Blue), Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl).

Best Actress: Cate Blanchett (Carol), Marion Cotillard (Macbeth), Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Julianne Moore (Freeheld), Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn).

Best Supporting Actor: Alan Alda (A Bridge of Spies), Kevin Bacon (Black Mass), Steve Carell (Freeheld), Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation), Ken Watanabe (Sea of Trees).

Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Rooney Mara (Carol), Ellen Page (Freeheld), Amy Ryan (Bridge of Spies), Rachel Weisz (The Light Between the Oceans).

Best Animated Feature: The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, Minions, Monster Trucks, Shaun The Sheep Movie.
