With Cannes well underway and new trailers being released regularly, the 2016 awards season is starting to take shape. With little footage and information released for many contenders we have to be reliant on the buzz coming from different projects, even though that is a dangerous game, considering The Sea of Trees’ poor reception at Cannes, all but booting it out of the Oscar race. Anyway, here is my updated Oscar predictions:

Best Actress: Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn), Cate Blanchett (Carol), Marion Cotillard (Macbeth), Julianne Moore (Freeheld), Jennifer Lawrence (Joy).
Best Supporting Actor: Tom Hardy (The Revenant), Steve Carell (Freeheld), Seth Rogen (Steve Jobs), Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight), Chris Cooper (Demolition).
