FINAL Oscar Nominations Predictions

So, here we are. It’s all come down to this. Months of agonising and shifting, and we’re almost there: nomination day is nearly upon us. It always upsets me when we get to the end of the nomination phase of awards season, as we still can pray for the rank outsiders to get a place in the line-up, keep them a part of the conversation. Alas, this is it: my final Oscar nomination predictions for 2016. Here we go:

Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale- The Big Short, Idris Elba- Beasts of No Nation, Mark Ruffalo- Spotlight, Mark Rylance- Bridge of Spies, Sylvester Stallone- Creed.

Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Jason Leigh- The Hateful Eight, Rooney Mara- Carol, Rachel McAdams- Spotlight, Alicia Vikander- The Danish Girl, Kate Winslet- Steve Jobs.

Best Original Screenplay: Bridge of Spies, Ex Machina, The Hateful Eight, Inside Out, Spotlight.

Best Adapted Screenplay: The Big Short, Brooklyn, Carol, Room, Steve Jobs.

Best Cinematography: Carol, The Hateful Eight, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant, Sicario.

Best Costume Design: Brooklyn, Carol, Cinderella, The Danish Girl, Mad Max: Fury Road.

Best Makeup and Hairstyling: The 100-Year-Old Man Who Jumped Out of the Window and Disappeared, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant.
